Often juxtaposing powerful images of wildlife against the backdrop of quiet urban or natural landscapes, James ultimately seeks to remind us that these spaces can- and do- co-exist in harmony.

His recent award-winning work emulating photographic effects through oils on canvas brings these two worlds together in colorful yet serene compositions that beautifully represent his unique style.

About James

Born in Wales, James's early life was spent on his family's working dairy farm, where he developed an interest in art at an early age.

While later studying graphic art at Coleg Sir Gar, James began immersing himself in wildlife photography, which would later influence his paintings.

His work has been heavily influenced by his deep appreciation for the varied wildlife and inspiring rural landscapes of his home in West Wales.

And that work has captured the hearts and minds of collectors around the world while twice landing him a spot as a finalist for the David Shepard wildlife artist of the year award (2021 & 2023).
