Ian's Craft

Born 1977 Ian Last grew up in and lived most of his life in Woodbridge.

Ian had been selling his art since he was 17 years old, his pencil wildlife works have gained national awards in wildlife exhibitions and his artworks have been brought by collectors around the world.

Ian’s work reflects his passions, wildlife and bird art is a favourite but he is passionate about the landscapes of Suffolk and the U.K.

Ian’s paintings, done in both acrylics and Oils, are all of areas that he loves, sometimes his hometown and county of Suffolk and sometimes from trips, especially Scotland.

Ian’s art is firmly rooted in paintings or drawings of things he has seen or experienced himself, always on the lookout for exciting scenes to paint, a brilliant light on the sea, the complexity of houseboats on the Deben or watching and painting a favourite bird.

Ian also sculpts, producing both life size and ‘mini sculpts’ of our U.K wildlife, but also popular culture items including large sculptures of Star Wars characters that are displayed in Norwich.

Working in many media allows Ian to tackle his favourite subjects in different ways, to bring out what so interests him about the scene, whether it’s the colours or the intricate details of nature.
