Dirty Han's Craft

Dirty Hans is a self-taught contemporary urban artist and illustrator, born and raised in Liverpool, England. He began painting as a way to channel his childhood hyperactive tendencies, finding a calming effect in the creative process. His artistic style is heavily influenced by pop culture and the Urban Art movement, drawing inspiration from 1950s culture, classic movies, comic books, and pulp magazines.

After being exposed to the work of Pop artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, his passion for art became a serious career. He spent about seven to nine years living in Antwerp, Belgium, where he further refined his unique style, influenced by his travels and the city's urban art scene.

Dirty Hans is known for his high-impact, bold, and often humorous pieces that challenge traditional notions of "high art" by incorporating popular cultural icons. He frequently uses images of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Clint Eastwood, Audrey Hepburn, and comic book characters like Spiderman and Batman, often giving them his own unique and twisted spin. He works with acrylics and spray paint on canvas and has also expanded into digital art media and sculpture.

His work has been exhibited internationally in cities including Antwerp, Brussels, Toronto, Paris, Berlin, and Miami, as well as throughout the UK. His art has also been featured in the Daily Mirror newspaper and on French TV (Tele2), with a mention in NYTimes.com. Dirty Hans has gained a worldwide following of collectors, and his work is available in galleries across the UK and is becoming a significant force in the new media art world.
